My name is Ange and I am the founder of Onsen Wellbeing. I am a trained yoga teacher and have completed the following qualifications:
2019 - 200 Hour YTTC
2020 - 50 Hour Yin Yoga Training
2021 - 50 Hour Yoga Sequencing Training
I am also a school teacher and have spent the last 16 years working as a principal at various schools. My extensive experience as an educator compliments my practice as a yoga teacher.
I first started practicing yoga over ten years ago when I suffered from chronic lower back pain. I found that yoga helped so much that the pain disappeared and then I started to focus on the other ways that yoga proved beneficial including helping manage stress, increasing strength and flexibility, assisting with mindfulness, increasing breath awareness and improving overall wellbeing. My grandmother practiced yoga her whole life and I wish I had followed in her footsteps sooner! Now I want to share the magic of yoga with others and help them to learn practices to live a healthier and more balanced life.
The name 'Onsen Wellbeing' stems from my fascination and admiration for Japanese culture and wisdom. An onsen is a Japanese hot spring which is rich in beneficial minerals. Traditionally onsen are outdoor baths and Japanese people soak in the hot water to provide many health benefits. I like to think of yoga as a practice in which you immerse yourself to create a healthier and renewed version of yourself - much like an onsen!
Many Japanese traditions and expressions resonate with my beliefs and philosophy. I love the valuing of simplicity and elegance, the connection with nature and the gratitude and mindfulness that is a 'way of being' for Japanese people. I hope to offer a place where these values shine through in all that we do. Please visit our Yoga Menu to see what is on offer at Onsen Wellbeing.
